Subject: View From the Far Side
As an interested observer from "the other side of the pond", can I just throw my two pennyworth of views into the melting pot?
I read with interest the comments of your "Pundit Pap" team, on the strength of the one American "political" show I can get, the whole thing is a waste of time. Let me explain.
Currently, I am working in The Netherlands, and my apartment is connected to the Dutch Television Network. As a result I have part time access to NBC (at midday it changes to National Geographic, which is more informative). Anyway, each Sunday I am now blessed to witness the shambling nonsense that is "The McLauglin Group"
Do you guys really take this man seriously? I mean come on, a fat, blustering, oaf who seems to think that the only way to have a reasoned argument is to shout everyone else down. This man has all the manners and decorum of a skunk at a wedding reception! And his views? Hangem' Flogem' and for God sake always remember that Clinton is the devil. This man is slightlty right of Atilla the Hun.
He also seems to be in favour of "Island America" isolationism, a short sighted view at best.
Not being able to watch any other American Political debate programs, I have nothing to compare this mess to, but if the others are anything like this, I am surprised that anyone in the country can make an informed choice at all. Dealing with the Kosovo conflict -- for instance, in one 5 minute segment, with bullet point graphics designed by a five year old -- is not in-depth coverage. I hope to high heaven that your newspapers are better!
May I suggest you send the idiot over to the UK for a course in how to
make political programs? A quick view of the BBC's "On the Record" would be an
eye opener for him. Oh yes, we might also teach him some manners!
Best regards from the Bunker
