$6 Million Dollar Bill
Wondering whether Bill Bradley is a liar and a hypocrite?  You won't have to wonder anymore!

TUESDAY, Nov.2, 1999--ELECTION DAY--NEW YORK (APJ) Okay, I give up. Just when I thought maybe, just maybe, I could vote for Bill Bradley if something happened to Al Gore, I take a look at his financial disclosure statements.

Oh, my!

Here's a rundown for all you 70's hippies--and 80's yuppies with a conscience.

During the past two years, Ernestine and Bill (mostly Bill) Bradley made nearly $6 million--half of it on speaking engagements that old Billy Boy made after he "left the Senate to focus on how to rebuild civic life in America" (barf).

Well, it turns out he did quite a lot to build his own civic life, mostly on Wall Street--where he spoke to such trustworthy groups as Chase Manhattan Bank, "HMOland" (a.k.a. the American Association of Health Plans), insurance mega-companies, investment firms, and banks. He also spoke quite a lot at board meetings--he is a member and Vice-Chairman of J.P. Morgan's "International Council," whose goal is most likely to take over the Earth (in Mr. Morgan's memory, of course).

Remember, Chase is dropping millions on the House and Senate to make sure they can sell you insurance and investments--something that helped bring about the Great Depression of 1929. Chase also wants to see your health records--so they can really charge you up the yin- yang for life insurance coverage. The HMOers, of course, are papering the Congress with thousand-dollar bills to make sure you can never sue them, be covered tp the most meager extent possible, and have you treated for brain cancer by "highly trained" welfare-to-work receptionists.

And let's not forget Sprint, the AVIS of long-distance rate-gouging.  Sprint wants to stop your local phone company from offering long distance service to your family at cheaper prices.

Bradley is a champion of--and takes millions from--these guys.

Look, I don't blame the payers--that's their job. But I do blame the PAYEE, and that's the ultra-hypocrite Bill Bradley.

I wonder where the other $3 million in his two year income came from?

If that's not bad enough, Bradley earned $100,000 for serving J.P. Morgan along with cuddly war monger George Shultz. He also pocketed another $200,000 as a "senior advisor" to Morgan Guaranty Trust. I wonder what he "advised" them on.  A good jump shot?

Wall Street has been even better for the "timid" Bradley in the campaign cash area.

Between July and September alone he got nearly $200,000 from Goldman Sachs employees (gently "forced" to make the contributions, I am sure), $75,000 from Lehman Brothers employees, and $64,000 from Merrill Lynch--the grossest churners on Earth. Lehman and Merrill Lynch had previously ponied up nearly $150,000. Do the math: that's nearly half a million from three stock firms alone.

Bradley also worked hard, I should mention, as an "essayist" for the CBS Evening News and in his outstanding performance as a "host" on an A&E television series I've never heard of.

So, if you were thinking about voting for Bill, remember this:

He's just another one of them. Like Henry Hyde, Chuck Canady, and Ken Starr, he's a hypocrite extraordinaire.

Maybe he should run in the GOP primary!
