                     | When Will They Learn? GOPers Elect the Same Old Dudes! Wednesday, November 18th, 1998 --- New York (APJP) -- The "New Republican Party" elected the same old good ole' boys this afternoon, voting Newt Clone Bob Livingston as Speaker designate, re-electing Dick Armey (believe it or not!) as Majority Leader and former exterminator Tom DeLay (one for the books) as Majority Whip, and "Uncle" J.C. Watts as the first black Republican Conference Chairman in Party history. When J.C. realizes the reason, he might not be happy.
A beaming Livingston told a bored press gaggle that the Republican Party "...is like an aircraft carrier," and that it will begin working hard on Democrat programs like Social Security, Education and Health Care -- well, to be honest, Livingston didn't mention heath care, but J.C. Watts did -- and The Speaker Designate nearly choked on his crow sandwich. We agreed with Livingston - The GOP is like an aircraft carrier: for example, the Japanese carrier Agasi, pictured below.
Will Livingston go down with the GOP ship?
I doubt it...
