Dear Mr. Greene:
You've had your fun, and I've responded to you.
Because I'm an honest guy, I want you to know that we take threats to our families' well-being very seriously here.
You might imagine that writing about politics -- especially in depth -- can be a dangerous job. There are a lot of nuts out there, including people inside the forum you operate in that shoot people like us for fun. It sounds Bondesque, but it's not.
I used to pooh-pooh all that stuff. When my office represented police -- more than 30,000 of them -- we received real bomb threats and had to install, with police help, an extremely sophisticated alarm and television monitoring system in our home. I had a 5 year son at home at the time.
I didn't like that feeling.
I don't like what you are doing either.
Besides the fact that your information is mostly erroneous, I've been convinced by others that you could be dangerous by inciting others -- if you yourself aren't a nut case.
So what am I to do?
I can either ignore it, or take the advice I pay for.
What would you do?
We have the wherewithal to litigate against you on several issues. That's expensive for us, and for you. Our people are as avid as yours to find out what's going on with you -- and some others who are even more directly threatening.
I'm offering you the chance to apologize to me, in the same forum you placed your libel, and to then stop harassing us with your e-mail or any other contact whatsoever.
Believe me: you won't win on this. You stepped over a line and threatened to hurt our families by trying to injure our incomes.
That's against the law.
I don't mind if you take issue with what I write. That's fine. That's what America is all about. But taking it to a personal level -- exposing my wife and children to people who could be genuinely insane -- is just going too far.
I don't know what will happen tomorrow. I haven't decided. But I suggest you take the proper course and reply to me on this.
Don't ever, ever consider threatening me, my family, my friends or anyone in our organization. I promise you -- with all my heart -- you'll regret that. We will pursue you through every lawful avenue available without pause.
Sincerely
Jeff Koopersmith
MORE amusing hate mail From Jesse Gilbert Mr. Koopersmith, I have no idea whether Lawrence was a great guy or not. I only know that describing American Veterans as "shit kickers" while you bask in the benefits they've provided is indefensible; every bit as indefensible as spitting on veterans returning from Nam as did some of those persons financed by Mr. Lawrence. I will not contest how much Mr. Lawrence gave for his country because I have no idea. But I suspect that one who holds American Veterans in contempt as your comments would indicate may very well consider financing anti-American protests as great service to the world. I do not. Let me also suggest that those who died in service of our Nation did so for many reasons, but "big business" is not one I suspect was uppermost in most of their minds. Your implication that American Soldiers are sent to their deaths by "big business" is about as accurate as saying that pulling a child from beneath a wrecked vehicle is in service of the pharmaceutical industry. There's a tiny grain of truth in it that entirely misses the point. I also take offense at your referring to an Arlington Cemetery plot as "a piece of dirt". Once again, you belittle those who honorably served our Nation. And once again, you put forward a tiny piece of information(dirt) which while not inaccurate, miserably fails to recognize the whole truth. I don't know what your world view is, or what you may hope to persuade others to believe, but your comments lead me to believe you prefer a very small portion of the truth. Sincerely, Jesse Gilbert Note from Koop: You've got to laugh at someone who parses and twists ideas as shown above. The poor guy "csincerely" needs a serious reality check, a long vacation, and plenty of Prozac. |

Pointless...stupid...moron...What intelligent responses. I guess that explains how you have remained so unenlightened all these years. Now, I'll answer your remarks one by one without resorting to name calling. Firstly, cowering in foxholes is NOT attacking those who sent them to their deaths. Your true self is shining through loud and clear. YOUR GRIEF...YOUR PERSONAL FEELINGS...YOU!..your favorite subject. A hero puts his pain, feelings and fear aside so he can accomplish his mission. You, in contrast, were bragging about your self absorption, your debilitating grief and your inability to walk by The Wall as if it somehow made you more caring than the rest of us. You wore your misery and pain like a cloak of honor. You advised me to do something constructive, how does falling in a heap on the ground do anything to help, inspire or honor anyone? You asked how I would know what you did. I know because you said in your letter you sat home and wore POW bracelets, remember? I'm sure it gets confusing keeping your stories straight. I know you wore ribbons of assorted colors because I have been unable to find any documentation to prove you did not. You say my statement was very cute but pointless. I'll take that as a non-responsive answer concerning your personal disability. It most definately is not a denial. As far as your statement that I owe Sheila Davis Lawrence an apology...I don't believe I owe her anything. I do believe she needs to explain why she gave the DNC $50,856 nine months after her hubbies death, and why she continues to insist her husband who is a proven liar is taking up space in a heroes cemetery. You ask why I don't do something constructive like change the rules. Why waste my time and energy changing rules when all the present rules and laws are ignored with no repercussions for the rule and law breakers. Focus on that!!! It's hard to believe that you could live 50 years on this earth and learn so little. No, I'll pass on your invitation to "Try Clinton". As a woman, I prefer to save myself for my husband who is a true man. I'll let Hillary, Janet Reno and all their friends fight over you and Clinton and all the other sensitive men whose lips quiver and eyes water faster than ice cream on a hot day.

I don't quite know where to begin to tear apart your blithering, rambling, incoherent rant, but then, I figured, why bother responding to some whiner about "courage" when that person hasn't te courage to use his real name. "Texas Reb?" We won that war over 130 years ago -- traitor.
