Marathon Lieberman Syndrome
by the Editors

Sunday, August 13, 2000 -- Joseph Lieberman was the guest on all five of the major Sunday political talk shows.

We were not surprised to see the pundits trying to make the Gore-Lieberman ticket look weak by highlighting the "differences" of opinion between the two men.  We were also not surprised to see the press trying to make Bill Clinton an issue.

We've said it here before -- the GOP acts as if they were running against Clinton, not Gore.  And the press seems to be more interested in pressing the Clinton button than dealing with the semantic differences between Bush and Gore.

The irony is that in the long run, this can only help Al Gore -- first, because Clinton remains popular; second, because once gore and Bush go head-to-head, the real differences between the two men (i.e. Gore being articulate and Bush being a complete idiot) will emerge in stronger relief.

Here's what we saw:

Fox Schmooze Sunday
Trying to put Gore in Clinton's shadow

Our favorite conservative, Tony Snow, hosted FNS from Washington  -- and the "news" reports prior to the interview segments tried to put Gore "in Clinton's shadow."

His first guest: Joe Lieberman. There was some talk about Gore's willingness to work through ideas and solve problems with Lieberman.  If anything, this points out a big difference between Gore, who likes ideas and debating policy, and Bush, who avoids thinking and leaves ideas to Daddy's old friends.

Tony then asked Lieberman about "differences" -- trying to drive a "wedge" between Gore and Lieberman -- but Lieberman said that what Gore says, goes -- and that if you examine Gore's Senate record, he was a centerist, as Lieberman claims to be.

Tony asked Lieberman about Social Security privatization, which he no longer supports -- but there was no mention from Tony that he reversed his view a long time ago!  This was an attempt to make it look as if Joe is flip-flopping.  Lieberman said he's not going to push an idea away because it's conservative, and had looked at privatization in the late '70s and finally saw "no there there" -- it neither helped beneficiaries nor protected social security.  Lieberman wants to see Social Security protected -- "You can't play with that, you can't fool with it."  Lieberman suggested that Bush may raid the trust fund.  Tony: "So your reform for Social Security is no reform at all."  Lieberman pretty much agreed.

"Are racial preferences a bad idea?"  Lieberman said quotas are a bad idea, but affirmative action is a good idea.  Look for this to be the new Democrat mantra -- to paint the GOP into a corner -- eliminate quotas but step up affirmative action initiatives -- and enforcement.

Lieberman dismissed the GOP Convention for having "inclusiveness mostly on the stage."  Tony tried to "zap" Lieberman by saying that the Democrats had quotas -- but Lieberman said the delegate mix was more representative of America.

Tony couldn't resist asking Lieberman about the "Playboy Mansion" fundraiser. Lieberman said that Gore was not affected by these contributions, dismissing the flap.  Will Lieberman continue to take contributions from big pharma and insurance?  Lieberman called them "reputable industries" but said he'd voted for the Patients' Bill of Rights.

Did George Bush and the GOP "play into your hands" by talking about Clinton?  Lieberman smiled and said that Cheney seems to think he's running against Clinton -- and that "the personal mistakes that President Clinton made is history."  Lieberman then made a biiiig mistake -- he said it was a mistake to blame Bush and Cheney for Iran-Contra.

Joe, Cheney was there.  He was up to his ears in Iran-Contra brown sauce.  And people have questions -- questions about a legitimate criminal scandal as opposed to a zaftig intern.

Tony then turned to Gore campaign boss Bill Daley, who was in LA.  Tony asked first about "God " in Bush's speech -- Daley said Gore would talk issues.  Tony then implied that Joe Lieberman was not "inclusive" -- and Daley fired back in support of Lieberman.  Brit Hume asked Daley a really dumb question about the Tennessee "event" at which Gore announced Lieberman as his running mate -- was the prayer Lieberman made "planned?"  Hume also asked Daley about Bush's comments on Jesus in his life.

What the hell was going on here?  Does Brit Hume suddenly obsess about religion as the number one issue in his life?  He wasn't doing an effective job of implying that Gore was somehow a religious hypocrite.

Tony asked if Clinton would "overshadow" Gore, and Daley dismissed the idea.  Tony also asked if Clinton would apologize again -- and Daley, as Lieberman did, dismissed the whole intern flap as "in the past."

No kidding, Daley -- only the conservative press wants this scandal continued.  They think it's good for ratings; they think most people can be hoodwinked into being interested in it.  In truth, people are sick of it -- and sick of conservatives sticking the "scandal" that was fabricated by a cadre of Clinton-haters in the public's face.

Hume naturally asked about the Sanchez fundraiser at the Playboy Mansion -- and played up Playboy not being "respectful" of women.  Daley skewered Hume on that point by mentioning Christine Hefner's support of progressive caucuses -- and then made clear that the matter is over.

Finally, Tony asked about the CBS comedy incident earlier this week in which a clip of Bush accepting the GOP nomination had the words "snipers wanted" flashed on the screen.  Daley had not heard about the incident -- and denounced it.  This did not get mentioned on any of the other Sunday shows.

Super-panel time!  Lieberman -- a good choice?  Hume called it excellent, but emphasized Joe's "adjusting" his views to Gore.  Fred "The Weasel" Barnes claimed that Republicans get hammered by the press when they talk religion (on balance they don't), but that the Dems got a pass on Lieberman being a devout Jew.  Mara Liasson said that religion is a code word for morality -- and recounted Lieberman's chastisement of Clinton on the Senate floor (good grief, they just love to play this up -- while not mentioning that Lieberman was against impeachment).  Mara also said that Bush said Gore could restore dignity to the White House, tying it to the perception that Gore and Lieberman are perceived as righteous.  Juan said that Lieberman did not appeal to liberals.  Mort Kondracke said that Lieberman would appeal the centerist voters -- and Fred stupidly tried to claim that Lieberman is moving to the left and Gore is "to the left" of Clinton.  Juan said that Lieberman "is there to remind people that Al Gore is not Clinton."

Brit Hume dismissed Gore giving a policy-laden speech, trying to characterize him a as stiff and boring.  Mara pointed out the vague speech given by Bush.

Then -- the latest installment of "As the Reform Party Churns" -- a very funny recap of the convention fiasco!  "But where's Ross?  Where's The Donald?  Where's Jesse?  But who needs a wrestler when you've got this?"  We loved it!  Juan said that Pat Buchanan has squandered Ross's legacy -- and Nader may get more votes.  Hume said that the Buchanan Reform wing is the "real deal" -- and that it's ironic that people complain about boring conventions, but "nobody cared" about the Reform Convention.  Mara said the Reform Party has "less and less reason to be."  Fred forecast that Pat would not get the nearly 13 million dollars in matching funds and that Pat would have to go back to being a TV panelist.

We ignored a bunch of Fox O-Spin-Ion Dynamics questions on morals.

Mort forecast the Clinton speech -- Clinton will ask if people are better off than they were eight years ago, then say Gore was there every inch of the way.  Hume said that Clinton would always be a part of the campaign -- but only because Hume wants to believe this, wants to see Clinton do collateral damage to Gore, something that won't happen.  Juan said that the delegates love Bill Clinton -- and will give him a rousing going-away party for a man in the pantheon of Democrat heroes.  Mara said that no president has worked so hard for his veep to help get him elected -- or been as problematic for the candidate.

Well, one thing's for sure -- Fox is leading the futile charge to "tie" Clinton to Gore.  Lord knows, they're trying -- a little too hard.

The McLaugh-In Group
Not live from LA

Issue one: the Anti-Clinton!!  John was lauding the "bold choice" of Joseph Lieberman -- and played a quick succession of Lieberman saying "God" over a dozen times.  That must have endeared Lieberman to Pope McLaugh-In!  John tied Gore to Clinton's "moral turpitude," then played a clip of Gore calling Clinton "one of our greatest presidents" on the day he was impeached.  John continued ranting about Clinton's morals -- then congratulated Tony Blankley for correctly predicting Lieberman as Gore's running mate.

John then asked -- why all the God references?  Michael Barone said the expected anti-Clinton blather, concluding that "Gore needs a bath" to wash off Clinton, and "Lieberman is that bath."  Eleanor Clift slammed Barone's view, saying that Clinton had even said that Gore should not be judged on Clinton's conduct.

Best exchange of the week:  John said Bush took a beating for talking about Jesus.  Clarence Page replied "Yeah, that's why he's ahead in the polls!"

John continued obsessing on "the Clinton stain" and Gore's "guilt by association... some people say he was an enabler." Ha, ha, ha -- you've got to love that word "enabler."  Hey, John, Cheney is Bush's "enabler" -- doing the thinking for the hapless Texan!  Tony said that people do not hold Gore responsible for Clinton, but do for "the Buddhist temple."  This is true -- because the press has misinformed the public about the non-fundraiser and the presence of GOPers at the same event since day one.

Issue two -- Lieberman: the political factor.  John drew on conservative think-tank figures to cast Lieberman's voting record as that of a liberal -- on gun control, abortion, social security.  John pointed out that Lieberman has voted against reducing federal spending and dropping taxes, and votes 87% with the Democrats.  John's conclusion -- he's no moderate.  But Tony said that on many issues, Lieberman's NOT liberal.  Eleanor said that she loved listening to GOPers saying Lieberman's TOO moderate -- then attacked John's statistics.

John brought up Lieberman's "triple finkout" on issues (including backing off on relocating  the US Embassy to Israel embassy to Jerusalem).  Eleanor pointed out tat Lieberman's "support" of school vouchers was for an experimental program in DC.  Tony: "He's weaseling and backpedaling."

John then turned to polling numbers on a Gore-Lieberman ticket -- and brought up the topic of how anti-Semitism "might" affect Gore's chances, quoting a comment by an official at the Wiesenthal Center citing quiet and secretive anti-Semitism.  A little later, John played an audiotape sound bite of that NAACP official in Dallas making outrageous statements about Gore and Jews (for which the official was fired).  Neither issue really set the panel on fire.  John then brought up Muslim voters, tying them to black-Jewish tensions and anti-Semitism.  The panel didn't buy it as a net minus -- but John kept up, saying that Sen. Graham of Florida would have been a better choice.  Tony agreed with John, but said that the choice of Lieberman stopped Bush's post-convention bounce.  Then John surprised us by saying it's hard not to like Lieberman -- but he brings nothing to the ticket.

Strangely, the entire segment involved no shouting.  John almost sounded sane -- even if his opinion is so far off base as to be laughable.

Pointless predictions!

Michael Barone: House Democrats will not get a bounce in polls after the convention.

Tony Blankley: Lieberman "is going to feel under sufficient pressure to say something about Hollywood" at the Democratic Convention.

Eleanor Clift predicted that the Reform Party's matching funds " will be held up in court long enough so that it won't do any good for either Pat Buchanan or John Hagelin."

Clarence Page predicted "Gore is going to win California despite Ralph Nader."  What a stretch.

John McLaughlin: "If Gore-Lieberman give high profile to a patient's bill of rights over the coming two weeks, Republicans convening after Labor Day will pass their own bill of rights before they leave in early October." Possibly true - -and Clinton could veto it because it's a giveaway to pharma and insurers.

Face the Nation
Schieffer and Borger get tough on Lieberman

Bob Schieffer had the same lineup as FNS -- Lieberman and Daley.

Schieffer asked about what Hollywood could expect from the Gore-Lieberman administration to "clean up their act."  Lieberman said he is anti-censorship, but that Hollywood might find themselves under greater government scrutiny.  Lieberman said violence, sex and incivility is just not good for kids, citing the comment of a housewife in New Haven who said she's competing with Hollywood to raise her kids and Hollywood is winning.  He also saluted Tipper Gore for her efforts to label records.

Now, that's funny -- because those warning labels ended up being used as a marketing tool by labels!  How many parents do the music shopping for their kids?  The warning labels make CDs more appealing to kids!

Now, we know Lieberman is saying all of this to appeal to social conservatives.  But we say he's way out of touch with reality -- Hollywood responds to market demands and to broadcast and cable programmers, dependent on ad money.  In the end, he'll have to face off against these industries and their advertisers.

Gloria Borger asked Lieberman if he saw anything wrong with Cheney's Halliburton golden parachute -- and notably his retaining stock options.  Lieberman said that legally there is nothing wrong, but questioned Cheney's ethics and the influence it might have on Bush-Cheney policy.

Schieffer asked Lieberman about campaign reform and the White House coffees -- if he and Gore are elected, will coffees and sleepovers be allowed?  Lieberman said Gore even said mistakes were made, but "nothing like that" has been going on, and Gore-Lieberman will support the McCain-Feingold reforms -- where are Bush and Cheney on this?  Schieffer asked for a clarification -- no sleepovers?  No Coffees?  Lieberman said that he has not discussed this with Gore, but that he's sure none of this would happen in a Gore White House.

Borger asked what Lieberman would have done during the Lewinsky flap if he were Vice President.  Lieberman said he would have spoken personally to the President, advise full disclosure and an apology -- and would not have spoken out publicly, unlike what he did on the Senate floor.  Schieffer asked if Lieberman would have spoken out at some point publicly as Gore did, calling Clinton "one of the greatest presidents."  Lieberman said that Clinton had a great track record on policy and doing great things for the country, but Lieberman spoke out on the Senate floor because he was angry about Clinton's conduct.

We think this is not completely true -- that Lieberman did it to defuse a politically volatile situation.

Schieffer then welcomed Daley -- and said he'd seen tension between the Gore and Clinton camps about Clinton "hogging the spotlight."  Daley said Clinton has an obligation to appear -- and then previewed the week's events.  Gloria asked about Clinton's comment not to blame Gore for his mistakes -- and what happens if Bush tries to hang it around Gore's neck.  Daley called it unfortunate that these people want to have a fight with Clinton -- but we think he and many other Dems want to see the GOP keep campaigning against Clinton -- a losing proposition for the Republicans.

Schieffer tried to cast doubt on Hillary Clinton's claim that she was lobbying heavily for many Administration policy initiatives, but Daley said she was active behind the scenes and an integral team member.  Was Daley ever told to keep quiet about her role?  Daley smiled, said no -- and added that it was one secret the Clinton Administration managed to keep from the press!

Bob actually looked like he was smiling at Daley's zinger.

Eat the (Vice-)Prezz
Formerly "Meet the Press" -- Fat Tim
coddles Pat the Nazi

One could only wonder how Fat Tim Russert would bash Bill Clinton and Al Gore today.

Joe Lieberman was the guest, so Russert, in a teaser on Today, called this "a special edition of Meet the Press."

Sure. We knew what he was up to -- he would call Lieberman a hypocrite because he disagrees with Al Gore on a few issues.

The other hot interview would with Pat Pukeanan, the sort-of nominee of the Reform Party (at least half of it). If anyone doubted Buchanan was moving to the Perot Party for the money only, one need not doubt it now! Make a note to yourself to check the "Puke for President" FEC reports -- to see how much Buchanan is paying himself and other family members over the course of the next few months. We think they'll collect maybe $10 million in salaries and benefits.

Russert calls Lieberman an "observant Jew" -- huh? What exactly is an "observant Jew?" This is not a term anyone has heard before. Tim, what is an "observant Christian?" An "observant Muslim?" Russert obviously CHOSE to use it. What Lieberman is is an ORTHODOX Jew who does not wear a yarmulke (the small skullcap always worn by the Pope).

We wonder why -- and will check with his staff on Monday.

Ah. Russert began the attacks on Lieberman (which means "Love Man" by the way -- but you'll have to verify that with his wife Hadassah, which is "Esther" or the Queen in Hebrew) by showing a vid clip of Lieberman attacking the entertainment industry for producing smut and garbage. Well, we remind Joe that this is a free country -- which means that the entertainment industry is FREE as well to produce whatever the people want.

Could it be that Lieberman is adopting far right-wing, even Neo-Nazi, ideas to censor the media? This is dangerous. Lieberman said he will bring this message to Hollywood: "Clean up your act."

Then Russert brought up the cancelled Playboy Mansion fundraiser for a wonderful congresswoman, Loretta Sanchez (who defeated the textbook psychopath B-1 Bob Dornan, a lunatic Republican who even the Republicans kicked out of the House Floor where ex-members normally maintain floor privileges even after leaving office).

The ultra-feminine sneering chief of the DNC told Sanchez to either give up the Playboy party, or they would blackball from speaking at the DNC convention -- a real mistake, because Sanchez is articulate, personable, and an effective representative for her constituents.

Russert then showed a clip of Lieberman criticizing the President's private conduct on the Senate floor. Then he said that Gore told television this week that he agreed with everything Lieberman said. So then the idiot Russert showed a clip of Gore calling Clinton America's greatest president or some such. Then he showed Lieberman saying that he watched the gathering on the White House lawn to support their President, answering a snide question by Russert asking whether Clinton was equal in stature to Washington, Lincoln and Jefferson.

Well, we can tell you this -- Clinton never owned the greatest number of slaves like Washington and Jefferson, and Lincoln never wanted to emancipate them -- not really. Read your history. In the end, Lincoln did so, but perhaps not for the reasons we all learned in grade school.

Russert showed this clip -- a very lengthy one -- in which he is just sneering almost Cheney-like at Lieberman, asking him his standard rhetorical anti-Gore and anti-Clinton questions. Russert then kept it up, claiming that Gore chose Lieberman for purely political reasons.

Ha, ha, ha -- wow, Tim, is this a show about politics, you moron?!

Lieberman said he will push for vouchers, but not publicly he tells Russert. Lieberman likes vouchers for poor children -- not the rich. He then agreed with Russert that vouchers are not a "risky scheme" -- as Russert had put it, parroting the Vice President.

Russert then mentioned the BushBrat, Governor Dubya -- and put up a slide of the Bush plan, which Lieberman said was a good one.

Oy veh. Do we have to ask whether Russert -- illegally, by the way -- is doing a one-hour Bush Commercial by spending at least half of it attacking Gore and Lieberman?

Next he brought up Lieberman's support of privatizing Social Security. Lieberman voted to put 2% of the social security trust fund in the private sector and raise the retirement age to 70 -- so we can all NOT collect our meager social security checks!

Gore is horrified by both the proposal to give people control over their only lifeline in case they retire broke, and the possibility that Congress will play with increasing the retirement age -- a taking of your assets, by the way -- just so they can balance their books to spend more money on Star Wars or some other worthless project or pork barrel giveaway.

Lieberman went on about his flip flop on the privatization issue. Russert said, "Didn't Al Gore ask you to change your mind?" No, said Lieberman. He wrote the now famous article on his own which reversed his prior position.

Gee, Fat Tim -- are we now not allowed to change our minds? We were thinking to ourselves, "Whadda schmuck!"

Fat Tim said that Affirmative Action is important to all Americans -- yet Lieberman supported Ward Connerly's Proposition 209, and he said it seemed to state basic American principals. Ridiculous -- Lieberman is an assimilator -- not a Democrat. He claimed that Clinton examined the Affirmative Action programs and wanted to fix them, not kill them. He said affirmative action has dropped from the screen because of the great economy.

Hey Joe -- tell that to the men, women and children in the Bronx or in border states like Texas.

We don't like Lieberman. He is a not a Jew in the cultural sense. Jews in America are largely liberal, and are not so concerned that some people, who have been oppressed by the very nation they live in, get a helping hand greater than they. They are not concerned, as Connerly and Lieberman seem to be, that some people get a seemingly freer ride than others. As a great friend of ours, a Jew, said: "Look at the affirmative action given to boys like George W. Bush and to his Daddy's corporations. W. got his by a happenstance of birth, and corporate America gets theirs by buying the Congress."

Lieberman said he does not believe that Pat Buchanan is anti-Semitic. What a moron! Pukeanan is an outspoken anti-Semite. He then showed a clip of Bill Bennett saying basically that Jews can get away with saying things and invoking God a dozen times, while Catholics cannot. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha -- and Lieberman agrees with this!!!! What a jerk.

We didn't like Lieberman at first, but our opinion of him is getting more negative -- and we think that Gore made a mistake in choosing him as a running mate, a big one.

Then Russert himself became an anti-Semite and quoted Gore as saying that he tries to do what Jesus would do. "What do you think about that?" croaks Russert. Russert then asked whether Lieberman can take the oath of office on Saturday -- the Jewish Sabbath. What a piece of crap. "But you would not observe the Sabbath on Inauguration day." Oh, God.

Both of these guys have to go. Gore ought to shut Lieberman up. He sounds like a hypocrite.

Next up: the always entertaining Pat Pukeanan -- the man who spent an hour arguing with Chris Matthews about what color underwear Hitler wore to his own swearing in.

Russert showed Pukeanan the latest poll which Tim claimed shows Pat at 2%. His true standing is less than 1% -- and Russert knows it. The Puke went on and on. He sounded moronic. He said the dozen people who vote for him will not hurt George Bush and he doesn't care. "The GOP could have Michael Jackson up on the stage singing We are the World." Another coded Pukeanan racist statement.

Russert wanted to know what will happen to the $12 million in matching funds to the Reform Party, because the people who control it will not give it to the Puke. "We are going to get that 12.6 million." Ha, ha, ha, ha -- so what? We hope so, and then we hope he is indicted for spending it on himself. He is not even on the ballot in many states. He said he is "scheduled" in all 50 states. He claimed that he has insurance policies in every state -- OTHER PARTIES -- ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.

Tim quoted Buchanan on gays ruining the history of man from ROME TO THE WEIMAR REPUBLIC. Ha, ha, ha the Weimar, which Hitler overthrew!!!!! What a laugh.

Buchanan said that the celebration of homosexuality is not a healthy lifestyle. When they march up 5th Avenue "gesticulating" at Saint Patrick's Cathedral (for its Neanderthal anti-gay stance of course), it is showing a decline in humanity just as it did in every declining society. He claimed that he is speaking the truth.

We notice a ticker running across the split screen which just keeps saying MEET THE PRESS... MEET THE PRESS... ha, ha, ha. Are they worried that people will think they are watching Saturday Night Live?

Pat then called for a breakup of the monstrous media conglomerates which are "poisoning the very air we breathe." He then called the Anti-Defamation League a Hitlerian group. He talked about the Liberty Lobby, which is putting out a pro-Buchanan publication. He claimed that his lawyers told him he can't talk to these Nazis. Ha, ha, ha, ha. Sure. Then he followed up by saying that no haters need apply to HIS party.

What a joke! What party is that -- CNN? Where he'll never, ever work again?

Russert then moved to clips of JFK -- a man Tim disgraces by his very presence on the air.

This Weak
Bi-coastal Scam and Cocky can't sway Lieberman

Joe Lieberman opened the show. Cocky is in LA. Scam in is DC. Scam wanted to talk about Clinton -- and showed the same old clip of Al Gore saying the President was one of our greatest presidents that we've already seen a dozen times this morning. Lieberman said that what the House did was wrong, we should have passed a strong statement of censure -- but impeachment was wrong.

Well, well, well -- it only took four pundit shows, but he finally got it right.

He refused to agree or disagree with Gore on Clinton being one of the greatest presidents. He said he was moved to make his speech against Clinton on the Senate Floor calling Clinton immoral and harmful -- but the message would not have been sent had the GOP not been combing the lint under toilets for nine years searching for gossip about President Clinton -- even before he announced his campaign.

Lieberman is "dismayed" that the Democrats have raised more soft money than they did in 1996. What a stupid question from Sam -- of course they did.

Scam, like Russert, uses past quotes to embarrass Lieberman and make him appear as a hypocrite. Scam said that Al Gore hosted 21 White House coffees.

So what? The GOP was hosting private lunches with Newt "Dump the Ailing Wife" Gingrich and Trent "Ironing Board" Lott for high roller GOP contributors.

Neither side charged even a cent for attendance.

Scam went after Lieberman on Hollywood. Despite the outpouring on school shooting, Hollywood is still pouring out serial killers -- or some such. Jeez. Lieberman should be the Vice President of CENSORSHIP USA. Al, Tipper and Hadassah will join together to talk about the moral future of America.

We can just see that -- and can't stop laughing at the idea!

Lieberman then stupidly attacked the Disney organization again. Boy -- that should really endear Joe to Mickey.

Then Scam went on a quote binge to see if Lieberman agrees or disagrees.

Big business is on the side of the GOP. Lieberman has raised more money from insurance companies than any other member of the Senate. Scam mentioned that Lieberman was from New Jersey. Lieberman is in fact from Connecticut. Lieberman is happy to be judged by his voting record, he said, and does not have to walk every plank that the insurance and pharma industry would like him to -- he supports Medicare pharma provisions, and the tough Patients' Bill of Rights pushed by the White House but whitewashed for the HMOs by the GOP House and Senate.

Thank the Lord that Clinton vetoed that one.

Lieberman said that the BushBaby is going to spend all the money that would go to seniors for much-needed drugs on tax cuts for the rich.

Scam turned to Social Security and Vouchers, but did not really dig into Lieberman's stunning opposition to affirmative action programs and support for men like Ward Connerly, "Mr. Black Republican" who wrote Proposition 209 and was recently thrown out of Florida by its Supreme Court for trying to peddle his hate schemes in that state.

Basically, Lieberman just vomited out the same stuff he said on Meet the Press. It was boring.

Scam asked about private school vouchers -- which Gore will never support if they take anything away from the public schools. Lieberman only voted for test funds. He is worried about failing schools serving poor children.

"The people should know that on matters like this we will have full and open debate in private, but I will stick with whatever Gore decided."

Then Scam hit Lieberman on his embarrassing support of anti-affirmative action groups! Lieberman said the only thing he opposed was quotas, but supports affirmative action for training and education for jobs available in the marketplace.

Scam hit Bush at the end of his piece with Lieberman by pointing out that Bush will not ask Cheney to recuse himself on matters of energy.

Of course not, Cheney AND Bush are BOTH the big oil candidates.

You know, you would think that GE, who dominates the advertising for these pundit shows, would produce new commercials about how wonderful they are more than once a year. We are so sick of listening to their BS about helping poor kids who don't know what to do with themselves.

Cocky said that Bill and Hillary Clinton have arrived in Los Angeles and are visiting with movie stars and the like. "What will that mean for Gore?" asked Cocky.

John Breaux, who was recently written up in the Washington Post for pinning a local newswoman -- who was at a the Capital Grille Restaurant with her boyfriend -- to the wall and almost forcing her to listen to his lewd proposition, talked to Cocky about morals!

Breaux is married, by the way.

Jesse Jackson, who won the medal of freedom this week, talks about the Clinton confessions that have been going on for the past ten days in one form or another. Jackson wanted to change the subject.

Now remember, Cocky and her mother were the ones who made sure that Jackson would not speak at the 1992 DNC until the wee hours of the morning.

Cocky brought up Lieberman's support of Ward Connerly in California's Prop 209 move.

Unbelievably, Jackson avoids the issue. He said that Lieberman voted the right way -- but did not talk about Lieberman's support for Connerly. He said the same thing about training the poor to take new high tech jobs. Parrots are squawking.

Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, Jesse Jackson Jr. and Andrew Cuomo were the next guests -- other members of America's New Democrats and dynastic political families who defended the righting-down of the Democrat Party -- the prime reason that we all live in a nation today that looks more like prewar Austria then the United States of America.

George Will was interviewing them. Kathleen put down Teddy Kennedy because he is a real liberal Democrat. The three punks who disrespect their parents and relatives by their "new right wing" way of thinking are busy telling us that their parents would be new Democrats too if they could see the future that these three can see.

Little Cuomo said that Hillary will win, and it won't even be close.

Jackson has said that Ralph Nader should be included in the debates. Oh, brother. Jackson must be a lot dumber than his father. The GOP wants all the liberals and everyone else included in the debates to make them a circus and hide the fact that BushBaby is a moron. Jackson is falling for it. Jesse, spank him.

Kathleen Kennedy talked about Bobby Kennedy and JFK as if she knew them well. She was 6 and 9 years old when they were murdered -- most likely by the same factions that now support George W. Bush.

[Don't forget, by the way. Mac MacArthur will be at the DNC convention and promises a riotous look at the New Democrats that may make you cringe. Dr. Gonzo will also be there! He guarantees a look that will make everyone cringe!]

The GOP ran an ad for Bush that is a riot. They claim that Texas is the number one state in cleaning up its environment (just as they are in improving education). Do you know why? Because in Texas, education and environmental quality rank as Number 50 out of 50 states in both! It's easy to be the "most improved" when you are the worst. You've just gotta laugh -- as you realize it's the truth.

Cocky then brought up Bill Clinton's nearly one hour of confessions to his pastor and his parishioners on the Lewinsky scandal.

Staphylococcus feels that the President just got carried away. Sam thinks that the President just wanted to get this out of the way before Monday's goodbye speech.

Will said that Clinton is an egomaniac and this will not be Al Gore's first convention, it will be Bill Clinton's last convention. What a great cheap shot! Brilliant, George. Clinton being there will be the only thing energizing that convention -- and Gore should have him there all four days. The idiots running the Gore campaign are just simply foolish in trying to get Clinton out of town as quickly as possible. The President can do so much for Gore during the next three months.

Scam disagrees with Staph again. He said that Lieberman does not help Clinton. Well, we may agree as time goes on. But Clinton -- Clinton will be Gore's savior, believe us.

The people already know that Gore is not Clinton. They wish he was a combination of the good in both men. But that is impossible. Remember, the people love Clinton -- by three to one. Sure, the majority say they don't approve of him getting a little head in the oval office -- but what would anyone say to that question?

Then Cocky showed a trumped up poll by NEWSWEEK, the Howard Fineman magazine which hates Clinton and Gore. Geez, is she nuts? No. Newsweek is owned by the Washington Post Corporation -- who have tried their level best to destroy the Clintons.
