Slick Dubya's October Surprise

Friday, Sept. 22, 2000 (AmpolNS) -- Well, it's September -- and already it's time for the October Surprise. The price of oil is sky high and the "Pugs" are ready to make an issue of it.

Certain questions should be asked: 

• Why did daddy Bush go to Kuwait last year? Must have been for the healing waters, eh?
• Even though the price of oil is through the roof, why are oil companies making record profits?

In the past, there were Windfall Profits Taxes to reclaim some of the excess and illegal profits of the oil companies. It is not hard to see that the oil companies are in collusion and fixing prices. Even if the Smirk loses the election, the energy companies he represents are going to rake in the bucks. Are we going to let them get away with an effort by energy companies to wreck the entire economy in a cynical attempt to steal this Presidential election? 

Are we SHEEP?

Don't let these traitors get away with it, folks.

Just carpool one day a week. Don't buy gasoline on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Don't allow our future to be manipulated by greedy oil people. If consumption of oil products sharply declines, so will the prices -- and the people will have won. Otherwise we have sold ourselves into energy slavery.

With the coming of alternate energy sources, we are witnessing the last hurrah for big oil. Let's see that it ends quickly.
