Congenital Liar!
George W. Bush Conceals His DUI/License Loss, Adding to a Pattern of Deception
by Tamara Baker

Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000 -- SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA (AmpolNS) -- George W. Bush has used all sorts of old discredited stories to tar Al Gore as a liar and concealer. But it turns out that it's Governor Bush who is doing the lying and concealing in this campaign.

He lied about running a clean campaign, when he beat John McCain in the primaries by lying about McCain's war record and political record.

He lied about a bill he claimed in the debates to have signed into law, when in fact he fought that bill tooth and nail and it became a law without his signature.

He lied about how Texas schools have done under his watch, only to have his lies exposed by a new RAND corporation study.

He lied about how he got into the national guard, claiming not to have had his powerful father twisting arms on his behalf, when in fact Ben Barnes testified under oath to say that the Bush family did indeed pull many, many strings to get young Dubya into the Guard and out of the Vietnam draft.

He lied about his missing year of Guard duty, claiming to have served and flown when, as the Boston Globe's five months' worth of stories shows, not a single one of his fellow National Guardsmen can be found to verify his ever reporting for duty between May 1972 and May 1973.

He lied about why he refused to take his mandatory annual pilot's physical and drug testing in 1972, a refusal that caused him to be grounded for the rest of his Guard hitch. He said it was because the Air National Guard wouldn't let his family doctor do the physical, when in fact all flight physicals can only be done by qualified flight surgeons, as the Boston Globe and others have pointed out.

And now, it turns out that he has lied, and is still lying, about the extent of his problems with substance abuse. A Maine reporter has discovered that in 1976, George W. Bush lost his license for drunken driving: something that the self-called 'straight talker' Bush has concealed successfully up until now.

Could this be why he had himself issued a new driver's license in March of 1995, shortly after he became Governor of Texas? In Texas, a person's criminal record can be accessed through his/her driver's license.

George W. Bush shows a verified pattern of lies and deception. How can he justify his claims concerning 'honor and dignity'?
