Gasbags, journalists and guests in modus spinnius maximus amidst Florida ballot crisis -- at least it's warm in Palm Beach...
by the Editors

Sunday, November 12, 2000 -- NEW YORK/WASHINGTON (AmpolNS) -- There was one, and only one, topic discussed on the political shows this Sunday: the contested presidential race in Florida.

Most of the discussion focused on the manual recount presently underway in Palm Beach County and the filing of an injunction by the George W. Bush camp to halt the recount.  There was also some embarrassed discussion of the back and forth calls by the networks, based on Voter's News Service exit polls, of Florida going to Al Gore, then too close, then Bush winning Florida and the White House, then too close.

Absent altogether from the discussion was any mention of eyewitness accounts of election fraud throughout the state of Florida: intimidation of the public in voting places by officials telling them they only had a few minutes to vote, electioneering by the Christian Coalition and the GOP, missing ballot boxes turning up -- full and empty -- in the most peculiar places, ballot bags that were supposed to be sealed turning up open, and numerous other incidents.

Also overlooked in the discussion of the premature decision to call Florida for Gore was an analysis of where the mistakes were made by the VNS -- and where they may have been correct despite the initial "official" count.  CBS's analyst, one Dr. Frankovic, explained the situation earlier this week -- that there had been a data entry error by a VNS staffer that was later corrected.  However, there has been little scrutiny of the exit polls in some counties which seem to be in line with the scenario of voters intending to vote for Al Gore but voting instead for Pat Buchanan.

Well, at least the pundits did go a little below the surface this week, even with their spin factored in.

Here's how it went down:

FAUX News Sunday
Pundits in Space!

Tony Snow's first question -- is the recount good for the country?

Try this, Tony -- is sweeping systemic voter fraud under the rug good for the country?

Live reports from FAUX reporters David Shuster (Gore picked up votes in a sample manual recount in Palm Beach County), Carl Cameron (Bush is hiding at his ranch, fretting with advisor Andy Card, contemplating more lawsuits - -and this is the party that hates "trial lawyers?") and Jim Angle (with Team Gore -- they have not decided to concede if the vote count goes against him; a clip of Warren Christopher saying that if Bush thinks he won, he should not fear a recount) preceded rent Lott and Bob Torricelli.

Naturally, Lott said that Gore should have conceded -- "how many times do you have to count it?"

Well, Trent, you stealth bigot, you have to count them until you have an accurate count.

Tony tried to get Lott to say that he thought that someone doctored the ballots, and Lott claimed that Gore is "out to get the results he wants."  Then Lott surprised even us by saying he'd support a re-vote statewide.  Then he backed off when Brit Hume confronted him on the issue.  Hume also asked if it were not proper for Gore to get a manual recount and for Lott et al to keep it zipped until the numbers are in?

Holy cow -- wither Hume had become the Devil's advocate or he has the same "buyers' remorse" over Bush that many GOPers have!

Lott mumbled something about recounts and Florida counties -- and when Tony asked about whether the entire state should be recounted, Lott said yes!  "republicans have shown not once but twice that we have been magnanimous when elections were stolen."  He was referring to 1960 and 1976 -- but should be reminded that minorities in BOTH years had their voting rights stolen by crooked county election thugs both years -- although, Lott, a lover of the segregationist CCC, is likely not to give a flying toss about those troublesome minorities.

What happens if Gore becomes Prez and wants Social Security Plus?  Lott said forget about it.

Now that's funny -- given that northeast GOPers are likely to side with Dems and both Helms and Thurmond are ailing and the governors of their states would appoint Dems, Lott can guarantee nothing.

Hume talked legislation, and Lott towed the line -- but then said that everyone is talking gloom,  but there would be progress on some issues and he would reach out to "some" Democrats.

And that's what Gore is up against -- a hard-right Senate majority leader who talks out of both sides of his mouth.

Tony then turned to Bob "Torch" Torricelli and asked him about his misgivings about developments in Florida.  Torricelli said that Bush filing a lawsuit to stop manual counting is exactly what he feared.

Oh, com on, Torch - -you're saying Gore should let the election be stolen from him?

Torch said that the Bush campaign would have a tough case to argue, especially since Bush supported legislation mandating manual recounts in some situations in Texas.  Torch said that the exit polls were a problem.  Tony asked about Gore pursuing other legal remedies if the recount goes against him -- would Torch tell gore to back off?  Torch would not answer, focusing on the current situation and that next Friday, pressure will be enormous on whoever loses to concede.

Translation: Bob thinks ore is going to win, and Dubya had better lose graciously.

Hume and Torch went back and forth on recounts in other counties, and Torch said that certain deadlines for initiating a recount may  not be a problem.

But Torch returned to his main point: as he feared, the rules are "broken" and the courts are now involved.

Tony said that people may see the presidential race as a "rigged" election, and Torricelli said that the issue of the legitimacy of the President is now at the fore and steps must be taken to assure that the President is seen as having won fair and square.

Following the break: four different calls on election night -- did they affect the vote?  Rep. Billy "Slick" Tauzin (R-Thug) claimed that people standing in line in ten counties going 2-to-1 for Bush supposedly heard the state was going to Gore -- and said that people left.

What a lie!  Now, the networks blew it by calling Florida when one time zone was voting, but Tauzin claiming that people were "disenfranchised" is ridiculous -- polling places don't have TVs tuned to Dan Rather.

Tauzin claimed that Voters' News Service was "creating news" -- but Juan Williams said that the numbers were largely accurate.  Tauzin claimed that Georgia should have been reported sooner than it was.  Juan slammed Tauzin by asking him if it was partisanship for the networks to call Bush later in the day.  Tauzin called for new agreements not to call states while the polls are open -- but was lying when he claimed that voters are "disenfranchised" when a state is called -- remember, the president is NOT the only office being voted for.

Tauzin essentially painted the Democrats as suspect for recounting votes -- then called for an investigation into how exit polls worked.

NONE of the panel or Tauzin mentioned that exit polls showed Gore winning handily in Palm Beach County exit polls -- with results that are congruent with adjusting the punch ballot numbers away from Buchanan and add in the thousands of "tossed" ballots.  Of course, FAUX News is out to trash VNS's quite high reliability to cast doubt on their Palm Beach numbers.

Are selective recounts a triumph for democracy or a nuisance for Dubya?  International sleazebag James Baker said there are no uniform standards for county election officials and claimed FALSELY that there could be a lot of selective judgments.   What a riot -- then WHY the elaborate rules on which ballots would be counted and which not.

What do changing machine count numbers tell you?  Baker said HE DIDN'T KNOW (how to spin it, we guess) but that machine counts are more accurate than manual counts  -- and the more you count them, the more the results change.

Oh, please.  Results change when ballot boxes show up magically in churches and hotels, too, Jim-Bob -- why are you avoiding THIS fact?

Baker said that Bush has filed a constitutional challenge to selective counting -- and Tony said Florida law would allow the Bush people to recount counties.  Baker said that the Bush line is it's unconstitutional and these recounts "skew the count."

Ha, ha, ha, ha -- right -- toward the REAL winner, Al Gore!  Stick to lobbying, Jim-Bob.

Baker looked as if he had not gotten much sleep - -and testy to boot.

Tony turned to former en. George Mitchell (D-Peacemaker).  Should there be hand counts?  Mitchell said that in Seminole County, Bush gained nearly a hundred votes in the hand count - -and the same was true in New Mexico!  He argued that hand counting can be more accurate than machine counts.  Tony then pointed out that Bush signed a law making hand counting the preferred recount method in many cases.  How about a recount statewide?  Mitchell said that's up to the states.  What about the absentee voters?  Can campaign workers contact expatriates?  Mitchell said an absentee ballot, he believes, must be postmarked by Election Day.  What if Gore loses in the recount?  Will he continue his legal challenge? Mitchell was noncommittal.  So what is Mitchell's prediction?  He answered with a smile that the only certainty is that "something unexpected will happen between now and next Friday."  If Bush loses, should he concede? "If I'm not giving advice to Vice-President Gore, I'm surely not giving it to Governor Bush."

Tony has had Mitchell on previously, and the easygoing back-and-forth often cloaks the fact that Mitchell plays much of the pundit game pretty close to the vest.  This time around, it was clear that Mitchell was subtly needling Bush about his hypocrisy over hand counts in Texas vs. Florida -- and deflating the efficacy of Baker's spin.

Panel time!  "We haven't heard this much about chads since they stopped making surf movies!"  Tony played video of a Palm Beach county official explaining the various species of chad and which would and would not be counted.  "I felt like I was watching the OJ trial, Brit!"  Brit called the process subjective -- which isn't true because the official spelled out the chad issue pretty specifically.  Mara was right -- these voters need a new way to vote and the butterfly ballots are ridiculous -- "It's time to change the system." Tony asked Juan about the issue of confidence in the system with different voting methods, and Tony said confidence already shaken -- and Jeb Bush is governor in that state.  Hume interjected that Jeb has recused himself from the election board this week.

Hey, Brit -- he should have recused himself the minute his imbecile brother threw his hat in the ring!

Mara said that the process must be PERCEIVED as being fair.  Hume talked about the modern machine count process.  Juan said the Bush people were slow on the recount uptake -- and Jeb's involvement presents the appearance of suspicion.  Hume said that Bill Daley's saying the election should be awarded to Al Gore is troublesome -- as were "frivolous" arguments about recounts.  Hume was in his best huffy, dismissive mode.  Juan said that there were people who thought they were voting for Gore but were voting for Buchanan.  Hume (suddenly energized): "Wedon'tknowthat! Wedon'tknowthat!"

Oh, yes, we do, Hume -- from exit poll data and from eyewitness accounts.

Tony admitted it: "We all have egg on our faces" -- then he asked his pundit panel to predict the events of the week! Hume: Gore goes into the lead in the recount.  Mara the GOP demands recounts in Iowa and Wisconsin. Juan: it ain't over.

Tony's surprising final word -- the networks should not call states until one hour after the polls close in each state -- and Gore may well be vindicated, but at the cost of cooperative politics between the parties.

...as if they weren't ugly already, Tony!

The McLaugh-In Group
Florida flap drives "Pope" John off the deep end!

Issue One: A House Divided!  Video clips of Cheney, Daley feuding over election results in Florida as John talked about Bush assuming the mantle of leadership and naming his cabinet as Gore mounted a "legal challenge."  Larry Kudlow said Daley had "put on his war paint" and the NASDAQ dropped 11% on the uncertainty, then made the spurious claim that the markets are at the mercy of the "Peru-ization" of the election.  Eleanor said the GOP is acting as if Gore is trying to steal the election when he has the right to challenge questionable results -- and the courts are the place to play it out.  Tony Blankley seemed glum and ominous as he talked about the New York Times editorials that talked constitutional crisis, talked ancient Rome, and claimed Gore was about to "unleash a legal holocaust upon us."  John said ore would be at the mercy of lobbyists.  Jim Warren said that it was best not to mention certain commentators' predictions of a Bush victory -- and the economy is in great shape under Clinton.  Kudlow, worrying about his own bad investment decisions, said the economy is in trouble.

Well, no kidding, Kudlow -- smart people know Bush will tank the American economy.

Eleanor said that after the foreign ballots are in, it is time for a candidate to gracefully concede.  John talked about a divided electorate and a divided Congress -- can either presidential candidate be effective?  Kudlow said yes if it's Bush.  Eleanor said if Bush is in there, he's got trouble.  Tony agreed that there would be little honeymoon, and Congress would be unmanageable, but there should be some good choices for Bush -- bankruptcy reform, the "death tax."  Warren said Gore has an uphill fight getting support for school infrastructure funds.  John forecast a nightmare -- total gridlock.

Before the break, John slammed the media for "false and poisonous" reports -- in other words, facts that hurt Bush.

Issue two: Florida hurricane!  A video clip of Rev. Jesse Jackson talking about voting irregularities.  John excoriated the media for getting behind Democrats -- yeah, sure, John -- isn't it past your lithium time?  A video clip of Baker talking about the ballots having been previewed in newspapers had us laughing!  Right -- as if people read the papers anymore.  John said Warren Christopher said the ballot is illegal, then quoted a Florida state election guy saying that it was legal -- as if such a statement were definitive!  Eleanor asked John if he were on a first-name basis with Warren Christopher -- and nobody knows which way the foreign votes will go.  John put up a shot of the butterfly ballot and claimed it was easy to understand.  Warren said that the bigger problem was defective ballots in which punch holes were not popping out.  Kudlow whined about the "Venezualizing" of the election.

And that's true -- Jeb Bush has turned Florida into a Bush banana republic -- we're surprised he hasn't appointed Manuel Noriega to any state position yet to make up for that misunderstanding between Manuel and Poppy of some years back!

John really needed his lithium -- he talked about kids and a Disney ballot.  The panel shouted down Eleanor as she talked about Buchanan saying most of his votes were intended for Gore -- and John LIED when he said that's not what Buchanan said!

Is it true that Gore and Bush are destroying their "unique political assets?"  Huh?  Kudlow said that Bush has integrity (ha, ha, ha).  John said he's a healer and mediator (even funnier).  Eleanor said the situation will be resolved by Friday -- and John said Eleanor was "creating news."  Hmmm -- maybe she DOES know something.  Tony said that Gore believes he is the legitimate winner and will do whatever it takes to win the election.  Although Gore is hankering to litigate, said Warren, the loser should concede.

Issue three; the networks project Gore in Florida -- first NBC, then the other networks.  John recounted the remaining three changes in Florida's status.  Rove got face time.  Was there political bias in this call  by the networks?  No, said Warren -- the calls were guided by money, power and competition.  John claimed wrongly that in three time zones, the networks had an impact on elections -- a lie.  Kudlow oddly defended the networks -- and put the blame on the Voter News Service.  Tony said the effect was to suppress GOP votes.  John -- the networks have befouled their own nests.

True, John -- by letting GE, ADM, and other GOP-aligned industries buy their news divisions through sponsorships and commercials.

Final prediction -- so who will be the next President?
Larry -- George W. Bush.
Eleanor -- too close to call.
Tony  -- either Bush... or Hastert!
Jim Warren -- I dunno (my God -- ONE honest pundit!!!).
John McLaughlin -- Dubya!

Face the Nation
Who will be the next president?

Today' Face the Nation reminded us that it is time for CBS to rethink the show -- and expand it to a full hour.

Bob Schieffer's first question to guest James Baker -- if Gore wins the recount, will you challenge it?  Baker evaded the question, spinning the Bush position that one recount was sufficient and absentee ballots were the only concern, and that manual counts introduce error and invite mischief.

Uh-huh -- and stolen ballot boxes don't. Right.

Schieffer asked about the suggestion by Sam Nunn that Bush go with the more scrupulous manual recount and drop his lawsuit.  Baker intentionally "misunderstood: and deflected the question.  Schieffer then out Baker on the spot, mentioning Bush's now apparent in in New Mexico -- will you contest a recount there?  Baker sounded defensive as he switched back to spinning the Bush position on Florida.  Schieffer mentioned that lawsuits settle little.  Baker could only talk about absentee ballots and recounts - -and asked why the Gore people can't pull back.

Baker said a lot of nothing.

Schieffer turned to Bill Daley, who said the hand count ought to be completed -- and the situation is admittedly confusing, but the laws of Florida must be followed.  Schieffer said Baker is claiming there's no objective standard.  Daley said nobody knows which way the hand count will go.  Borger asked if the Gore people will abide by the hand count -- and Daley did a little weasel wording, saying that the hand count would be revealing, but not necessarily the end of the process.  Borger -- so you're not ruling out further legal challenges.  Daley said it was being looked at -- but there's not decision.  So, said Schieffer, if you win that's the end, but if you lose there will be action?  Daley said it had not been decided -- and that other lawsuits by outside parties are looking into irregularities.  Borger asked if Daley objected to hand counts in GOP-dominated counties.  Daley said that while he has not seen anomalies in these counties, the people of Florida have the right to a recount in these counties.

Sounds like a "Go ahead, make my day" answer to me.

What is the time frame on the hand count? Daley said that it could happen quickly - -and with TV cameras and observers, it was an open and fair process.

The next guest: John McCain.  Did the Bush people make a mistake in trying to stop the hand recount?  McCain said he was "disappointed" in Daley's comment, implying that Daley and Gore would not "go by the will of the voters" if Gore came up short in the vote count, and said "the people" have "a rapidly diminishing mandate."

Oh, please.  They have NO mandate.  The Electoral College has the mandate.

McCain predicted gridlock -- if Gore is president.  Schieffer asked what McCain's reaction would be if Gore came to him and asked McCain to be Secretary of Defense.  McCain said he's respectfully decline and does not agree with "Clinton-Gore" on defense issues.

Borger talked about a possible recount in New Mexico.  McCain, seeking to sweep corruption under the rug, said there should be an "end-point" to calls for recounts.  Borger said that the situation for the lame-duck Congress is  odd -- there's no president-elect.  McCain said that the Senate has been driven by partisanship (read: reaching into Clinton's trousers for a scandal) and citizens are alienated (read: Congress reached into Clinton's trousers when they had a chance to legislate).

Tom Daschle said that the lame-duck Congress could actually set up bipartisan power-sharing (but this won't happen -- Daschle is setting up the GOP to look unreasonable and extreme -- and it will work).  Daschle talked about the possible areas that a lame-duck Congress could actually move legislation.

Daschle said Americans are more interested in fairness than finality -- and that 30,000 voters were disenfranchised in Florida.  Borger said that if the recount is allowed to go through, should the Bush and Gore camps abide by the results (we'll remind you that that means without the 30,000 votes stripped of value).  Daschle said that the disenfranchised votes need to be included.  So what happens on Friday?  Daschle said the manual count could be completed by Friday -- and the Electors don't meet until the third week of December.

In other words -- who the heck knows what will happen next?

Schieffer's rambling final word dealt with the still-undecided presidential race, partisans, and the appearance of political and legal integrity in the race for the White House.

Meet the Puppet
Starring Charlie McRussert, ventriloquist dummy for the GOP

Charlie "Tim" McRussert declared today's lame excuse for a pundit show a "SPECIAL EDITION OF MEET THE PRESS."

And "special" it was -- especially boring, misleading, and full of unchallenged lies.

Everyone here knows that Tim Russert would -- and will -- attempt to make the Gore people the "spoilers" in the matter of Voters of Florida v. The State of Florida -- which is the real battle.

It is the Bush campaign that moved into court first -- and into Federal Court when they knew that this is state issue.

James Baker -- perhaps one of the biggest and loftiest criminals ever to serve in a presidential cabinet -- was first (of course). Baker came on whining. He did not want a recount, of course, because it is obvious that Bush would lose the presidency.

Russert asked a good question -- If Bush thinks he won Florida, why is he opposing a recount?

Baker did not answer -- and then said that the Dems want a recount in only a few Dem-leaning counties.

This is not true. The Democrats would WELCOME a new vote or a recount in every Florida country.

Baker said that a hand count will result in fraud -- without saying that directly. He called it "mischief" because he is scared to death to piss off all Floridians, and particularly all election officials.

Russert told the crooked Baker that Florida law requires a hand count. Baker was still clinging to the sorry lie that hand counts only apply to written ballots -- and not "computerized" ballots.

Well, one of our writers voted in Palm Beach -- the voting procedure WAS NOT computerized at all.  No computers were involved -- only a cheap machine that helps you punch chads were available in Palm Beach County.

The idiotic Baker claimed that machine counts are more accurate than hand counts. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha -- sure, that is why the machines have come up with different answers THREE TIMES!!!! What a jerk -- who does he think he's fooling?

Then Baker claimed that hand counters -- you and I and people like us -- "DIVINE" how the people of Florida voted. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha -- he's so foolish he thinks he can talk Russert's viewers into thinking that the vote counters are a sort of Psychic Friends (of Gore, of course) Network -- when the LIVE coverage of the recount process on C-SPAN and even the cable news channels shows otherwise..

He then said that he will drop his suit if Gore accepts only the foreign vote (which will favor Bush). What a laugh!. He then -- get this -- CHALLENGED the Democrat voters of Florida who have given up their right to vote --- to respond to this.

If they did respond, they'd kick the sleazebag Baker's double-talking butt back to Austin, the new crime capitol of America.

Russert then accused Baker of failing to challenge the counts in all GOP-leaning counties. Baker lied and said that they only "missed" one or two.

Well, this is untrue, because all other counties except Palm Beach, Broward and one other have reported to the Florida Secretary of State and have officially reported the vote -- without a chance to retract.

Baker kept pushing the position that Palm Beach voters are now asking for a THIRD count -- but they are not. There has never been a full recount officially -- only a canvas, and then last night a one or two percent precinct hand count which showed that Gore will pick up -- 2 to1 -- more votes than Bush on a recount.

Baker lied again, saying that Gore will ask for recount after recount after recount -- get this -- "until they get the result they want."

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha -- sure they will.

Here's the fact, Jimmy boy: THEY CANNOT.

Baker was lying through his teeth and Russert let him.

Then Russert told him that the very firms who make these antiquated IBM card counters (circa 1968!) estimate 3-6% errors. This has been confirmed by the hand count last night.

Of course, EVERYTHING BAKER SAID IS A LIE.  Why? Because he knows that all the recounts also resulted in MORE VOTES FOR BUSH!!!!!! So how can he claim this is unfair? He could not, so instead he lied.

Russert asked if Baker is concerned about the impression the present situation leaves in the eyes of the rest of the world. Baker said yes, of course. Baker did not say that the rest of the world is angry at BUSH and people like BAKER for trying to pull a fast one on Florida and American voters.

Baker pretended that if Bush were to win, the election will not be considered to have been stolen. But the truth is that if Gore wins that will be true. He is ahead in the Popular vote by a significant amount -- and he is ahead in Florida, and so deserves the Electoral College votes as well.

It is Bush that is attempting to steal the general election, just as he attempted to hide his felonies, his DUIs in and out of Maine, his illegitimate children, his W-paid-for abortions (yes, that's plural), his father's felonies while vice president and president, his buddy Reagan's felonies, his brother Jeb's wife's felonies and Jebby Bush Jr's sexual perversion arrest only last month.

The Bush family -- the entire family -- is a well-known criminal family that engages in sophisticate white collar crime, and only lately in abusing drug and alcohol laws. They are the scum of the bluebloods -- and like the Royals of England, attempt to hide their corruption behind the pretense of hard work and loyalty to the flag. However, their only real loyalty is to themselves and to other fascist-leaning families like theirs who seek to cheat the poor, the elderly, the minority population, the young, and even our heroic veterans out of their fair share of this unbelievably wealthy country.

Russert tried to say that these punch cards are used everywhere and votes are thrown out everywhere.

Sure, Charlie McRussert --  as if this somehow "excuses" the tossing of ballots because the punch gizmo does not work properly -- or because the person using these punch things are too weak or, yes, TOO STUPID to understand how to use these machines.

Bush again looks like the sore-loser punk that he is.

Russert then asked whether the Gore strategy is to delay the Florida count so it could not report to the Electoral College and thus Gore would win with more electoral votes.  What Warren Christopher argued -- and well -- is that it is only the Democrats that are arguing for following Florida Law.

What Warren Christopher and Bill Daley are forgetting is that it is the poor, the elderly and the minorities are the issue here -- it is their rights, both under the Constitution and the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act, that are really front and center. That is what's important.

Next, GOP harlot Mary Matalin, whom I would divorce if I was a REAL Democrat -- and not just a money-mongering fool like Carville -- joined the fray and actually INVOKED my dead father -- a man who died as a result of his fight for democracy in France, Italy and Africa.

That bitch Matalin ought to be slapped to the ground.

Carville said he thinks "this is a good thing, there's a rule book there, we'll be finished by December 12th -- and that's it."

And the argument by Matalin, that there is confusion everywhere and the fact that ballots are thrown out is no problem, is just crap.

The questions are:
WHY ARE THERE MISTAKES?
WHY ARE PEOPLE'S VOTES THROWN OUT?

THERE IS NO REASON FOR THIS -- NONE, EVEN IF IT TAKES BALLOTS ON PLAIN PAPER -- WITH PICTURES AND BALLOT PROPOSITION EXPLANATIONS FROM BOTH SIDES ON THE BALLOT -- AND IF ALL THE BALLOTS HAVE TO BE HAND-COUNTED!

Well! Is this not the way elections should be held? Yes, you should keep counting and counting and counting to make certain that EVERY person's  vote DOES count.

Ours is a ludicrous system, with power ceded to the counties, the least noticed and reported-on political authorities -- and the easiest to corrupt.  We deserve to be the laughing stock of even THIRD WORLD nations -- many of whom DO make certain that voters can do so.

Carville's arguments, of course, won the day -- even on Meet the Puppet. But what will the goons in Florida on both sides do once a hand count begins, if it does?

Russert stayed with the Carvilles to discuss hypocrite Ralph Nader. Carville said hewill not speak his name -- and if Nader ever walks into a room that he is in, he will walk out, he will not speak his name. Hillary said that the will of the people is to do away with the electoral college. Matalin made a predictably sneering, snide little comment about "Wow -- let's put Hillary on Mount Rushmore."

Fine with us!

Matalin said that Hillary "obviously" has not studied the history of this country -- yet nearly every historian of American politics has called for the elimination of the electoral college. Matalin too is a liar, like most of the GOP with any press presence. Matalin started screaming at James Carville when he made a justifiable mockery of her.

That was it for a very boring discussion of what may become a NEEDED and NECESSARY Constitutional crisis in this country -- a crisis of just WHO, WHERE and WHY some voters of color and old age are DENIED the vote through schemes, scams, threats, criminal activity and just plain idiocy -- as occurred in Palm Beach County Florida.

Remember, Florida is a state filled with crackers, anti-Semites, and worse -- who are living off Americans of the Jewish faith, the elderly who retire there, blacks and Hispanics. It is this latter group who were denied the vote in Palm Beach County -- and not your highly educated demanding intellectuals who pay the bills in that state.

This is a terrible situation and speaks poorly of Florida, just as the condition of the poor and the minorities in Texas speaks poorly of George DumbBellYou.

Nothing less.

This Week
When will ABC finally dump "Scam" and "Cocky"?

"Cocky" Cokie Boggs Roberts was in Florida. What a laugh! ABC showed an unofficial tally that has Bush leading by a whopping 201 votes.

Of course, ABC does not know what it is talking about. The hand count in Palm Beach showed that Gore gained 19 votes with one percent hand counted -- which means that Gore would have 1900 votes more with a recount of the remaining 99% -- and beat the Bush con!

Cokie had another reporter explain what a chad is. We believe you already know that this is the little piece of paper you punch out. The idiots in Florida decided not to count chads that were "dimpled" or "pregnant."

However, the dimpled and pregnant chads show the voter tried to punch the hole, but could not. IF anything, the dimpled and pregnant chads should be counted -- no matter for whom  they lean.

Basically, the Bush stance is "WE HAVE TO HURRY" (because we are winning in florida by only a fistful of votes -- we know we will lose otherwise). The Gore stance is "WE HAVE TO BE PATIENT" -- because that is what America is all about: one man or woman, one vote that counts.

Who wins that argument?

Cokie graciously welcomed James Baker, who said the very same thing he did on Eat the Press and other sunday spinfests. She showed a clip of that lunatic Karen Hughes complaining about two Floridians who filed suit on their own -- and then Bush filed a federal law suit herself!  Baker basically claimed that the two that filed are LIARS and that they were TOLD to do so by the Democrats -- although he did not do so in those exact words.  He chose WEASEL words to do so and say the same thing.

Baker's Pundit Mantra today: "THEY WILL CALL FOR MORE RECOUNTS AND THEN MORE RECOUNTS..."

He then claimed that a recount is UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!! Ha, ha, ha, ha -- and dumbass Cokie did not ask him why!

Baker kept up the "RECOUNT after RECOUNT after RECOUNT" pap and then said that the Bush mob will be FORCED to call for recounts in every state (where they are trailing) -- and then of course someone will call for a NATIONAL recount!!!!

The truth is, that is the way it might be -- and that would be good: it would show that this nation means what it said about your vote counting for something.

Secretary Warren Christopher was the next guest on This Weak. He talked about how upset people are who voted for Buchanan by accident instead of Gore. He also said that he will not stand in the way of any Floridian who wishes to file a suit in Florida court. He pointed out that Buchanan got 3800 votes in Palm Beach County, three times the ratio of vote he got throughout the rest of the state, including the backwater counties where he is more popular. Even Buchanan said that those votes were not his.

Next up was that always-contagious George "Staphylococcus" and the rest of the "ABC Round Table" of political talk parasites that "Scam" Donaldson and Cokie rely on to fill the time as they fret over the ever-decreasing ratings This Weak is suffering -- and their impending dismissal.

What are they up against? Well, Daffy Duck, Time and Again repeats on MSNBC, The Motorboat Channel, The History Channel's rerun of Napoleon's march into Naples, a pair of stoats mating on Discovery Channel, QVC, The Gem Shopping Channel, reruns of old golf tourneys, reruns of NASCAR races, Reverend Jimmy's Old Time Whites-Only Gospel Hour, and Saved by the Bell.

We are not exaggerating all that much.

The next guest, however, was the ever red-faced Wanna-Be Democrat Speaker of the House, "Dickless" Gephardt, who -- along with that twerp Joe Andrew -- gained almost nothing in the House this year although the Democrats should have whupped the GOP and taken a majority  It took us a minute to remember his name -- it always slips my mind because you never hear from him and he accomplishes nothing.. A whopping TWO seats in the House in NOTHING. Donaldson, that "Scam" of a journalist, pointed out that Bill Bradley said this should end on November 17th -- well, it will. So why did "Scam" ask this stupid question? Because he is the king of stupid questions, that's why. But, at least he asks, and asks, and asks, and asks -- hoping to get one right -- and occasionally he does.: "Ask a stupid question, you get a stupid answer."

Oh God -- Bob Dole was their next guest! Did he get a face lift?

He said  Gore was playing a "carnival game" -- you shoot 'til you win and you always get a prize! What carnival game is that, you dolt?  Dole said he wants a recount in Chicago -- "where they invented voter crime" (a slap at Daley). Dole admitted he is not much of lawyer -- and then Sam wondered if Dole thinks they will intervene in this situation. Dole said he thinks they could because they intervened in the POLL TAX!!! Ha, ha, ha ,ha, ha, ha, ha.

Sam asked if the loser should give up the race if the Florida Secretary of State certifies the election after the recounts. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha -- well what choice might he have, "Scam"?

Dole then accused Secretary Christopher of lying when he said that the people who filed individual lawsuits have done so themselves.

This is a serious charge. Mac MacArthur, who is in Florida, actually knows two of these people. Yes, they are Democrats -- but they filed their suits long before a single Gore person even arrived in Florida and are both very angry at Bush and his electioneering minions.

I'm talking about people like the used-up criminal Dole -- who, by the way, was a partner in crime for years with the sleazy Baker -- check into their ADM connections.  Dole should go up to his condo at the (how appropriate) WATERGATE and try out that upper balcony. See if he can make the pool! Just joking, of course -- we need weasels like Dole around to remind us why we should move criminals out of our legislatures and the Oval Office quickly -- and we don't mean Bill Clinton. We mean Reagan, BushDaddy, Nixon, and the "pretender" -- Dauphin Dubya Bush.

George Will argued against. Staph argued for. Staph said look Gore won that state -- the only question is will they count the votes? Cokie hired a telemarketing firm to ask people in Palm Beach County whether they were confused. However, how would you know WHO was cheated? The pooling places were being called by the thousands -- even before the pools closed. The officials running this election told the poll workers to allow them to cast their votes again.

Will believes that the Bush team will lose in court and lose in Florida -- and lose the election.

We agree -- but don't count out the worst criminality by the GOPers here.  Bush is desperate.

Cokie was JUST GOING OUT OF HER MIND -- she was hysterical!  She was shrieking that the Senate is tied, the vote is tied, the presidency is all messed up -- what can we do, what are we supposed to do?  It was just laughable -- and welcome!  Cokie finally showed that she is only a hairbreadth away from the "Happy Home," and Sam must have put her there!

It was a riot.

Now Sam said  -- catch this -- that giving people MONEY to vote is "traditional" -- but handing out CANCER (cigarettes) to urge people to vote "IS ANOTHER THING"!  I was laughing out loud! Is he a moron or what?

Will lied and said that leaving polls open longer to allow lines to deplete was ILLEGAL.

Will loves the electoral college -- because of course this is the ONLY way a Republican can actually win the presidency.

Stupid Staph said that states will now move to computer voting, and perhaps even Internet voting will be big now.

What an idiot. It will be back to paper ballots -- with pics of candidates and issues -- LIKE IT SHOULD BE!!!!

That was it for the four big networks this week.
