Egad, It's...
President Butt-Head!

Dubya's Dictator Dream-Wish Couched in Puerile Cartoon Fashion

by Tamara Baker

Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000 -- SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA -- So, did you all hear "The Quote" Monday afternoon?

You know, the one that issued so mellifluously from our soon-to-be Pretend Leader, the Thief from Kennebunkport?

It was all over the radio and the evening news Monday night.

In case you didn't, here's the transcript, as rendered by a friend of mine:

-=-=-

First words out of George W Bush's mouth from Capitol Hill in his first meeting with Congressional leadership?

"If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a whole heck of a lot easier, heh-heh heh-heh heh, just so long as I'm the dictator, heh-heh heh huh heh-heh!"

-=-=

My first thoughts were of dismay.

Lord God, Billy Bob, looks like our worst fears are coming to pass sooner than I thought they would!

But, as I listened to it again on CBS News tonight, I kept thinking to myself, "Gee... this sounds so familiar. Reminds me of someone... but who?"

THEN IT HIT ME!

The Fake Texan's locution was virtually identical to that of another famous fictional Texan -- a resident of Highland, Texas, to be exact.

Egad! It's President Butt-Head

Yes, folks. The imbecile Tony the Fixer Scalia installed as our Potemkin President is in fact the pimply adolescent cartoon character made famous by Mike Judge.

And of course, if he's Butt-Head, you know who Dick Cheney really is, too, don't you?

Here's a little memory-jogger:

"Hey, Beavis -- uh, heh-heh, huh-huhhh -- check out Adam Clymer -- huh huh, huh huh, uhhh. He's that major-league asshole for the New York Times, heheh uhhh."

"HAAAHNN! Yeah, big time asshole, Butt-Head! AH-HAAH-HAAHN!"

That's right, cartoon fans!  We've just been given the Beavis and Butt-Head Administration.

They'll drive this nation into the ground -- and sound dorky doing it.
