Tripp Fired!

Friday, Jan. 19, 2001-- NEW YORK (APJP) -- This afternoon, CNN reported that Linda Tripp, America's least favorite busybody and one of the few people in the public eye to rate a lower approval rating than Newt Gingrich or Dick Morris,  has been fired from her cushy six-figure job by the Clinton Administration mailing out CDs of military bugle calls.

CNN even took the time to quote a statement on behalf of the plastic surgery victim by attorneys Stephen Kohn, David Colapinto and Michael Kohn: "The termination of Linda Tripp is vindictive, mean-spirited and wrong."

Hey, pals -- are you saying that Tripp's having taken Monica Lewinsky into her confidence so she could dig dirt on Bill Clinton -- and then hanging her out to dry -- is NOT vindictive, mean-spirited and wrong? Can you say "hypocrite?"

And why no comment on one of the justifications for Tripp's firing -- the ILLEGAL use of her taxpayer-financed Pentagon e-mail account to respond to messages sent to her legal defense fund?

Tripp even had the arrogant audacity to essentially refuse resignation from her political-appointee position -- an action customarily taken by such appointees in the executive branch at the end of a president's term.

Tripp is lucky to have been merely fired -- and not indicted again. 

'Nuff said.
