| The APJ Mailbag From: Sara Nichols Imagine the outcry if instead of putting up his donors in the Lincoln Bedroom -- where there were no fatalities -- President Clinton had put them at the controls of a submarine that destroyed a Japanese fishing boat and killed 9 people. Arlen Specter would be filing homicide charges against Clinton and the Rabid Radical Religious Right would be calling for his head on a platter. From: rt218 Why doesn't Jimmy Carter keep his mouth shut? He allowed Reagan and Bush to trample all over him with their "October Surprise" -- and with the help of OPEC they managed to cause a panic over high oil prices, which caused inflation to go through the roof. Now, Carter wants to see Clinton roll over a play dead for these right wing slimers? I don't think so -- old Jimmy may be great at building houses but he left a lot to be desired at being President. If he had played the dirty, cheating, and lying game like the right wingers, we would not have been subjected to the eight years of Reagan and Bush that tripled our national debt and put this country into terrible shape! Jimmy and his chief of staff, Hamilton Jordan, have both felt compelled to join the choir of right wing radicals in trashing President Clinton over his pardon of Marc Rich. Come to think of it, old Jimmy hasn't done much for the Democratic party, so why does he feel he must voice his opinion that only helps the Clinton haters? Yes, Jimmy Carter is getting just a little too pious for me -- if this is his idea of turning the other cheek, I want no part of it or him!
From: Danny W. Thanks for the update -- having read Spider's Web I was wondering where it was I will send this e-mail to some of my friends that send me jokes about Clinton. Some have stopped already. When the NRA nuts tell me Gore wanted to take guns away, I just tell them he will get the Texas list from W. (Conceal Handgun Bill) he passed it -- then I tell them the registration fee is really a " gun tax," and that it was the Republicans that got them to tell the government they have a gun, and now have to pay for it to boot. Then I tell them how the Bill was actually a gun control measure, yet they went for it just because they get to shoot their guns in a test. They don't say much. Anytime they talk about Clinton I say "... just like W., especially since he lied under oath in that
From: K. Houston I was told that I couldn't possibly be defending Clinton today by someone, in response to me stating, "Remember Nancy's dresses? Remember Iran-Contra? Arlen Specter's defending Ira Einhorn?" My response is and ever will be (and will be actual and factual), "I'm not defending. I'm attacking."
From: J. Nagarya It has been reported that one of the civilian quid pro quo campaign contributors on the Greeneville had dealings with Marc Rich! |
