Bad News, Good News Update

Tuesday, March 27, 2001 -- SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA (APJP) -- The Bad
News: I "oopsed" when I said that the BushBaby's minders weren't
publishing transcripts of the daily press briefings anymore. Turns
out they still are, they just moved them to a different part of the
site.
The Good News: I just found out (thanks to Maia Cowan!) that the
USNewswire site posts the transcripts of the daily White House
press bafflings (and other toxic emissions from the White House),
presumably unedited. The URL is
http://www.usnewswire.com/topnews/current.htm.
Maia says: "It's a very useful site to check regularly, because it
provides press releases from all sort of sources from the sublime
[Sen. Harry Reid] to the ridiculous [Concerned Women of America].
Frequently the "major" news sources don't pick up on these
tidbits."
Nice to know that the USNewswire transcripts exist, because even
if Bushie's minders are still putting out transcripts of their daily
press briefings, I wouldn't bet the farm that the minders wouldn't be
tempted to, ah, "improve" them after the fact.
