RE: Black firemen, New York firemen
DATE: Oct. 27, 2001

I read your article about the black fireman in Florida. I wondered as I
read it if they may be Jehovah Witnesses. Not that it matters.

But what did our white fireman do in New York? I realize many of them
are heroes. However, being a hero shouldn't allow you to do what some
of them did in New York City. You may have seen the concert that was
held last week and the fireman who lost his brother who said, "Bin
Laden can kiss my royal Irish ass!" I heard him on Rush Limbaugh's
radio show and he said he is an American and didn't mean it they way it
sounded. Then Rush asked him why Hillary was booed. He said, "We didn't
want to listen to her babble."

But what he didn't say is that New York City Firemen and Policeman
electioneered for Rick Lazio! I thought of the white thugs in Dade
County during the presidential election. In my opinion, the disrespect
they showed Hillary and Richard Gere was uncalled for.

We are expected to overlook the ignorance of Republicans and I'm fed up
with overlooking their arrogance and belligerent attitudes.
