RANDY ANKENEY NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE FOR PIKES PEAK REGION
DENVER – Governor Bill Owens today announced the appointment of Randal "Randy" D. Ankeney as the new Business Development Representative in the Colorado Office of Economic Development for the Pikes Peak region including El Paso, Teller, and Fremont counties.
"Randy’s background in the Colorado Springs area will help us greatly with our economic development efforts and will be a real asset," said Gov. Owens.
"This appointment reflects the Governor’s desire to help communities on the local level. It is very effective for us to have business development representatives live in their regional communities," said Bob Lee, Executive Director of the Office of Economic Development & International Trade (OED&IT). "We have recruited one of the best people suited for this position."
OED&IT works with companies starting, expanding or relocating in Colorado. OED offers a wide range of services to assist new and existing businesses of every size. OED&IT implements business programs designed to encourage quality economic development, and provides financial and technical assistance for local and regional economic development activities throughout the state.
Ankeney is a Colorado Springs attorney, formerly of Hogan & Hartson, L.L.P. He received his juris doctorate from the University of Colorado in 1999 and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in 1994. Prior to his work with Hogan & Hartson, Ankeney was a program associate with the El Pomar Foundation in Colorado Springs.
