Pat Robertson says Islam is a violent religion...
Non-Violent Islamics Riot!
by Steve Young
Feb. 25, 2002 -- LOS ANGELES (TNFS/APJP) -- With television evangelist Pat Robertson having called Islam a violent religion bent on world domination, the 99.9% plus of Islamics who have never been violent have decided to do evil things.
If someone as powerful and admired as Mr. Robertson calls us violent, I guess we are, said Islamic cleric, Raja Omar. A lot of us thought we were pretty good guys. Who knew?
Robertson, who made the remarks on his Christian Broadcasting Network's 700 Club, feels that his comments were once again being taken out of context.
I never said they were violent, only that they were all killers, sadists and illegitimate sons and daughters of filthy warthogs who are no better that the slime I clean out of the moldy Holy Water. If you can find something about violence in that, well, then, strike me dead and call me Mary!
Fellow evangelist Jerry Falwell jumped to Robertson's defense. For crissakes, it's not like he called them abortionists, feminists, gays or liberals! It's not like I said they were responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks...um...wait a minute...
In a statement made to counter the angry backlash from American Muslims, Robertson said, I forgot to mention that the Irish are all drunks, Negroes like watermelon, Jews are cheap, Italians are mobsters, and did you ever drive behind one of those Orientals? I hope that eases any pain my comments might have caused the Muslim community.
Hussein Ibish, communications director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, called Robertson's remarks truly outrageous, then added, they're Christians. Whataya gonna do?
