My Open Letter to John Sabotta Dec. 7, 2003 Dear John, I read your stuff via Deja-Google and had to laugh. I don't think you got the message. First, liberals have never claimed, to my knowledge, that they are simply and solely out the help the little guy, or the masses as John Locke put it. I, for one, am only out to educate them so they can vote as they please. My problem with neo-Nazis such as Roger Ailes, Tammy Bruce and almost anyone on NewsMax is that they are bitterly using Lockeian "mass" idiots -- and they are idiots, not from their fault, but because we have a lousy education system -- to push their private corporate agendas. You might be surprised to know that I give a great deal of money to GOP candidates and that I am a registered Republican -- a liberal one, and one that will not stand by and let insidious little men like Christopher Ruddy try to fool all the people all the time. By the way -- my corpselike body was in a $6,500 suit from Bergdorf Goodman in Manhattan. The photograph was taken by the South China Post -- which, by the way, has a circulation larger than the Wall Street Journal (let alone the superfluous Union Square Journal) -- for a front page interview I did with them a few years back, "Bullish on Hong Kong." I do enjoy reading your diatribes, however. Keep it up. But I don't "hate" anybody, John, as you seem to. I hate what they do -- for money, really, and nothing else. And I already have privilege. What I prefer to do now is to be as good a patriot as I can be. For me, that means fighting organizations like FOX News Channel, NewsMax, the Washington Times, Jeff Christie's EIB, and the cable news cabal of Neo-brownshirts such as Bill O'Reilly, who is frankly out of control and mad with megalomania. And just why are you getting so carried away with rage? You and I both know that I'm not being read as much as, say, Paul Kurgman or Arianna Huffington. It just feels good to write what I believe is the truth. And I should know. By the way, just so you know who she is, Tammy Bruce was the president of the National Organization for Women (NOW) in Los Angeles. She is a lesbian and presided over the "lesbianization" of NOW -- and thus its marginalization and destruction as a force in U.S. politics. And she is a very hateful person. I wrote what I did because she decided to tear into Aaron Brown of CNN -- for no reason other than the fact that she is a hateful, spiteful, angry and mean person. I wrote what I wrote as an object lesson in what it is like to be personally attacked. And I received nearly fifty e-mails on that editorial -- about half a dozen were typical Freeper boilerplate, but a few civilly disagreed with my view but "got" why I adopted that tone -- and far, far more were in agreement with my view, including quite a few current and former members of NOW, some with their own horror stories concerning the corrosive Ms. Bruce. Oh, one more thing: read _closely_ and you might find yourself _agreeing_ with me on many points. When you don't, feel free to write me -- I answer my mail diligently and don't mind measured criticism. All the best, Jeff Koopersmith
