| Laura Ingraham: Worse Since Her Release from the Hospital
"What luck for rulers, that men do not think." -- Adolf Hitler Sept. 21, 2005 -- WASHINGTON (apj.us) -- During the past decade most of you have become familiar with the "usual suspects" that make up the highest echelon of that gangster-talk right wing media cadre now controlling most of what you read, see on television and listen to on the radio about politics in the United States. The problem with this situation, however, is that unlike England, for example, the American people are hard-pressed to understand that they are listening to pap controlled by the White House and the Republican National Committee, both of which issue talking points, sound clips and other gimquackery to a small circle of proto-fascist commentators who line up every morning, noon and night with a unified, coordinated "hit list" attacking specific Democratic politicians -- for example, this week Patrick Leahy and Ted Kennedy were targets -- as well as specific non-government organizations such as Planned Parenthood. And that's not to mention that "liberals" in general are always, always a primary strategic target of hard-right "talk radio" -- or, more accurately, hate radio. If you doubt this takeover had been effective, spend a few hours over the next week listening to the following Neonazi radio hosts on ABC, EIB, Salem Radio, Clear Channel and assorted independent AM stations. Sean "Totally uneducated, personable liar" Hannity Best quote from last week: "Governor, why would anyone not want to say the Pledge of Allegiance, unless they detested their own country or were ignorant of its greatness?" Alan "Supposedly the left wing answer to Sean Hannity" Colmes Best quote: "There are some who say that cutting taxes so hugely and with such a bias towards the rich at a time when the economy was sputtering and the budget was out of whack. Well, there are some who say that this was a tad irresponsible. Now I'm not one of those dirty, vegan, bra-burning liberals who's going to come out and say something like this while our nation's at war. Nope." Rush "Lightweight, zoned-out liberal compared the others although with the largest listening audience" Limbaugh Laura "Not a doctor of psychology as she might have you believe but a doctor of physiology" Schlesinger A real hate monger whose best quote of note is, "If you're a liberal, anything you say is protected. If you're a conservative, anything you say is hateful." Yeah, right. Laura Ingraham, who remains the most hateful, hate-filled and vindictive of the longer-haired, Eva-Braunesque pundette princesses (and yes, she could teach even Ann Coulter a few things about hate) Best defining quote: "Only on the Laura Ingraham Show!" William "You can bet on it" Bennett (yes, the hypocrite is back at 6 AM pretending to be an intellectual with a sycophantic toady sidekick that I guarantee will make you cringe) Best defining quote: "There are no menial jobs, only menial attitudes." Neil Boortz, ugly inside and out "If it is wrong for you to take money from someone else who earned it, to take their money by force for your own needs, then it is certainly just as wrong for you to demand that the government step forward and do this dirty work for you." Michael "Michael who?" Graham Best defining quote: Told neo-fundamentalist Chris "Tweety" Matthews that he would like to "bludgeon (Hillary Clinton) with a tire iron." Michael "Out of the closet" "Savage" Weiner (An insane, obese nitwit who delights in hating everyone not like him) Best defining quote (that got him kicked off MSNBC a few years back): "Sodomite!... Get AIDS and die!." Tony Blankley (his name says it all and he's an Aussie transplant turned editor of the Moonie Times) Best defining quote, referring to Seymour Hirsh: "18 United States Code section 794, subsection (b) prohibits anyone 'in time of war, with intent that the same shall be communicated to the enemy [from publishing] any information with respect to the movement, numbers, or disposition of any of the Armed Forces ... of the United States... or supposed plans or conduct of any ... military operations ... or any other information relating to the public defense, which might be useful to the enemy .. [this crime is punishable] by death or by imprisonment for any term of years or for life.'" Bill O'Reilly (simply a neocon for the money, and plenty of it) Best defining quote: "It's hard to do it because you gotta look people in the eye and tell 'em they're irresponsible and lazy. And who's gonna wanna do that? Because that's what poverty is, ladies and gentlemen. In this country, you can succeed if you get educated and work hard. Period. Period." G. Gordon Liddy (convicted felon of Watergate fame and ex-spook) Best defining quote: "Obviously crime pays, or there'd be no crime." (And he's one to know.) Michael Medved (effete film critic cashing in on massholios) Best defining quote in response to being asked, "If the Fairness Doctrine were implemented again as so many on the left want, what would it do to talk radio?": "It would destroy it. The problem with the Fairness Doctrine is not that it insures balance, there's nothing wrong with balance, it's that it insures less political conversation. In other words, if people knew they had to balance a very successful broadcast of the Michael Medved show with some new liberal show that might or might not succeed, that makes my show a much less attractive investment." All these "celebriturds" and more were sent a letter from American Politics Journal Editor Emeritus Jeff Koopersmith as follows: Friday, September 16, 2005 Dear [insert right wing talk radio host name here]: My name is Jeff Koopersmith and I have been the publisher of American Politics Journal, a moderate political commentary webzine since 1988. Our magazine seeks to tell the truth to Americans about America's politics and policy. Our editorial board has decided to challenge the FCC licenses of all stations that carry non-stop right wing talk radio and to monitor those radio hosts who participate with those stations. You are included as an individual that fits this profile. Let me assure you that there is nothing personal in our attacks against you and what you stand for. We are peace loving but we believe that we must engage in the same ad hominem attacks that you direct at anyone who does not agree with you, the White House, and worse. We believe you are, bit by bit, destroying our country. It is that simple. Therefore it is incumbent upon us to struggle against you and your ilk. Personally though, we wish you every wonderful thing. Our aim is frankly and specifically to drive you off the air so as to protect Americans, many of whom seem incapable of thinking straight and examining the complex issues facing voters today. They are too busy struggling to keep their heads above water. We also believe that purely leftist vicious radio is wrong as well. However, because these commentators do not attack minorities, the poor, Americans against the war in Iraq, teens, rock stars, Blacks, Black entertainers, and others who may not believe in Christian Fundamentalism and interpreting the Constitution literally (as might a chimpanzee) we prefer to use our resources against you and your brand. We will, most likely without success, be publicly challenging your station's and network's FCC licenses as well as filing complaints with the FEC against you personally. We will also be contacting your sponsors, monitoring your programs and emailing you with our comments every day, on a revolving and "surprise" basis. This email will be published weekly for you to review and correct. We promise to publish anything you might write in retort or in explanation. Our email to you is meant to get you to think more clearly about what you saying over the air. Already the idiot Dennis Prager has threatened us claiming that he is sending our mail to "appropriate authorities." He is a fool but if you must, please feel free to turn us in as you (and Dr. Laura) seem to enjoy doing. We wish you no harm. Thank you for your time. I am sure that you believe you are a patriot. Unfortunately so did Adolf Hitler. Yet, Best personal regards to you and yours, Jeff Koopersmith JEFF KOOPERSMITH is a political consultant, opinion research authority, policy analyst, and self-described "renegade lobbyist." | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
