Melinda Pillsbury-Foster talks with APJ's editor-in-chief Gene Gaudette about Neocon Sociopathy, the John Fund debacle and the future of Congress

From: Leola McConnell, Liberal Democratic Candidate for Nevada Governor
Re: My poll numbers (and I haven't spent $500.00 thus far) -- and the education and "DOMA" issues
Date: June 22, 2006

... $150.00 of that was on a copying machine, and $26.00 for paper.

You can see the current poll results at Survey USA

Now considering what I've spent, are the other two candidates pathetic or what?

Candidates Jim Gibson and Dina Titus have nearly $3 million dollars between the two of them, against my just under five hundred bucks. Not five hundred thousand bucks, mind you – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 hundred dollars.

They have no real message on education – Nevada's public education system is for crap – and if I had $100,000 to toss in, I'd mop the floor with them all on that one issue alone.

My numbers are higher in the Black and Hispanic communities than they claim – I know that from the feedback I'm getting.

I haven't done anything – I've been playing possum so they think I'm still a joke candidate – but I meet and greet at least one hundred people a day all over the valley, up close and in person, while my competition chases down endorsements from organizations. People don't vote for titles, they vote for courage and commitment – and the other two candidates are so lame, both of them. Jim Gibson is pulling a fast one (big-time) on the Hispanic community – the truth is that Gibson could not care less about a 65% high school age dropout rate among Hispanic kids, (or the immigration issue from which he runs away, just like Dina Titus). The dropout rate for Black kids is just over 50% here in Nevada. Where has Senator Titus been for the last 17 years? Sitting in the Nevada State Senate, not doing much of anything.

In Nevada, the gay community doesn't seem to be responding to the "Defense of Marriage Act" (DOMA) with any vigor – with the exception of one site.

I guess they plan to just live with the discrimination.

I don't.

Re: Can we shoot down Korea's missiles?
Date: June 22, 2005

North Korea is about to launch a missile test to see if it has created a weapon delivery system that can hit California. For years, Republicans and the military have been claiming that we have a missile defense system that can keep us safe. So – let's see if Korea launches its test missile if America can shoot it down. If we don't shoot it down, I think it's an admission that we can't.

I'm Marc Perkel - And I approved this message!
