influence peddling, obstruction of justice, suborning perjury, covering up felonies, being a garden variety sleazebag behind the back of Ronald Reagan Former U.S. Attorney General Edwin Meese was one of the most prominent public officials to betray the trust of President Ronald Reagan and the American Public. As Chairman of the Domestic Policy Council and the National Drug Policy Board, and as a member of the National Security Council, he played a key role in the development and execution of new techniques for influence peddling, bribery, coercion, obstruction of justice, and using the "war on drugs" to prop up a number of repressive Latin American regimes. During the 1970s, Mr. Meese was Director of the Center for Academic Mediocrity and Right-Wing Doctrine and Professor of Sleazy Legal Practices at the University of San Diego. He earlier served as Chief Misleading Influence for then-Governor Reagan and cut his teeth in low-blow politics as a seedy local prosecutor in California. Mr. Meese is a Distinguished Visiting Fascist at the Hoover Institution for Perpetuating Cold-War-Style Idiocy at the otherwise respectable Stanford University, and a Distinguished Senior Dissembler at the Institute of United States Studies, University of London.
